Earlier this week, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) claimed giving more money to Ukraine is “the No. 1 priority for the United States right now, according to most Republicans.”
On Thursday, he helped Democrats pass a massive $1.7 trillion spending bill that then went to the House and passed with the bare Democratic majority, just a few days before the new GOP majority was to take over, thereby screwing them over along with all of the Americans they represent.
Contained in that massive bill are billions more dollars for the Ukrainian military — on top of the billions that American taxpayers have already spent there.
But what about American forces? Aren’t they more important than any fighting force in Ukraine — for “Republicans” as McConnell insists, as well as Democrats?
Apparently not.
According to Infowars, the Biden regime and Congress have failed to pay National Guard troops their latest drill pay, and right before Christmas, when household budgets are tight and troops were no doubt depending on that money to help ease difficulties of providing for their families amid the Biden/Democratic inflation cycle.
“Hello gents,” began a letter sent to members of the National Guard, obtained by The Post Millennial, “if you have been tracking, the pay issue that has been plaguing the unit and the division as well.”
“You are probably already tracking there are pay issues. Many soldiers were due pay today. They received LES but did not receive funds,” the letter went on to say, referring to a Leave and Earning Statement, a pay stub without, in this case, accompanying funds being deposited in soldiers’ accounts.
The letter added the lack of pay is a “nation wide” issue, which “seems to be at DFAS [Defense Finance and Accounting Service] and is related to the CR.”
“This is unfortunate and can cause serious issues and aggravation across the formation which are understandable. Especially 2 days before Christmas,” the letter stated. “I think the messaging is important that it’s understood the issues are at the highest levels and that everyone in the Division and State are pushing for immediate resolution.”
Georgia National Guard soldier James Jarrett took to Twitter to say that the money won’t be paid out until early next year.
“All payments scheduled for 23 DEC are being held until the new FY23 budget is fully approved and signed congress passed the FY23 budget yesterday the housr [sic] has to approve it and then to POTUS to sign hopefully by today.”
@jamiedupree @FoxNews @wsbtv @wsbradio I was wondering if anyone was covering this. The Georgia National Guard was supposed to receive pay today from our previous drill. So, is this how “We Support Our Troops” goes? Shouldn’t paychecks already be part of allotted money? pic.twitter.com/TeRCfwXUeE

“With that being said, DFAS is holding all payments until new budget is signed,” the email continued. “From what im being told funds hopefully will be released tonight if it’s signed by POTUS today.”
In a column this week lambasting McConnell, The Federalist editor-in-chief Mollie Hemingway said that McConnell’s priorities, as well as those of other RINOs who have been in Congress far too long, are misplaced and do not align with those of most Americans, and especially most GOP voters.
“The comment about Republican priorities is so false as to be completely delusional. Among the many concerns Republican voters have with Washington, D.C., a failure to give even more money to Ukraine simply does not rank,” she wrote. “Many Republican voters support helping Ukraine fight Russia’s unjust invasion, but it is absolutely nowhere near their top issue, contrary to McConnell’s false claim. It ranked higher as a priority before American taxpayers gave Ukraine more than was given to their war effort by nearly every other country in the world combined.”
